Början av augusti ute i Ålands skärgård. Högsommar kan man tro men något kyligt i vinden. Puttrar ut i snurrebåten med nästan hela familjen till den närliggande ön Gräsören för att se om det går att avnjuta en solnedgång över mer öppet vatten än vi har vid Asterholma.

The beginning of August out in the Åland archipelago. High summer, you might think, but a little cold in the wind. Simmering out in the small boat with almost the whole family, to the nearby island Gräsören to see if it is possible to enjoy a sunset over more open water than we have at Asterholma.

Gräsören är en oansenlig ö som visserligen har fått äran att ha ett ensmärke på en av sina högre delar. Annars är det mest lågt växande enar och dessa döljer förrädiska sprickor som täcker ön.

Gräsören is an inconspicuous island which has indeed been given the honor of having a transit mark on one of its higher parts. Otherwise, it’s mostly low-growing junipers and these hide treacherous cracks that cover the island.

Vi hittade dock en liten remsa med klippor att invänta solnedgången på.

However, we found a small strip of rocks to wait for the sunset.

Jobbade sedan i datorn med att få fram så mycket av färger jag kunde hitta i bildernas Raw-format. Möjligen lite överdrivet men jag gillar det!

Then worked in the computer to bring out as many coluors as I could find in the images’ Raw format. Possibly a bit over the top but I like it!

När solen gått ner så blev det mer blått i motsatt riktning och jag kunde använda lite längre slutartider för att sudda ut vattnet.

When the sun went down, it became more blue in the opposite direction and I could use slightly longer shutter speeds to blur the water.

Storpudlen Aragorn tyckte i alla fall att det var en trevlig utflykt!

In any case, the great poodle Aragorn thinks it was a nice excursion!
