Evening skiing at Germundö Alpin!

Genom att jag inte jobbar i fjällen som Skidpatrullör denna vinter, så har vi i familjen längtat efter skidåkning sedan början av december.

Så i februari bjöds det äntligen på kyla, så Ålands ända backe med lift, Germundö alpin, kunde öppna!

Because I do not work in the mountains as a Ski patroler this winter, we have in the family longed for skiing since the beginning of December.

So in February it was finally cold, so Åland’s only slope with lift, Germundö alpine, could open!

Testade att fota ungarna och deras kompisar i parkens stora hopp. Kicken var okej men landningen lite brant, men fantastiskt att de ändå fixar ett hopp!

Började med ett experiment med hög ISO och ingen blixt. Gick upp till 4000 ISO för att få hyffsad tid på 1/200 sekund. Men som ni ser i exemplet ovan så räckte det inte till med ljuset från strålkastarna och autofokusen hängde inte med i mörkret.

Jobbade sedan med bilden i GIMP och fick fram något som ser lite cool ut i all fall i bilden till höger.

Här har jag också först jobbat i Raw Therapee i bilden till vänster och sedan fortsatt med GIMP i bilden till höger.

Tested taking photos of the kids and their friends in the park’s big jump. The kick was okay but the landing a bit steep, but fantastic that they still fix a jump!

Started with an experiment with high ISO and no flash. Went up to 4000 ISO to get a decent time of 1/200 second. But as you can see in the example above, the light from the spotlights was not enough and the autofocus did not manage to the dark.

Working with the image in GIMP and came up with something that looks a bit cool in the image to the right.

Here I have also first worked in Raw Therapee with the picture on the left and then continued with GIMP with the picture on the right.

Sedan gick jag över till att använda den interna blixten. Den är inte mycket att hurra för men den räckte till. Tyvärr så fixade inte autofokusen att hänga med i mörkret och blixtsynken på 1/60 sekund skapar viss rörelseoskärpa genom att jag följer åkaren med kameran.

Men det blev en del roliga bilder, så denna blogg blir mer en bildkavalkad än text berättelse.

Then I switched to using the internal flash. It is not much to cheer for but it was enough. Unfortunately, the autofocus did not manage to keep up in the dark and the flash sync in 1/60 second creates some motion blur by following the rider with the camera

But there were some fun pictures, so this blog will be more of a photo parade than a text story.
